The Kit is a lifesaver for us. We never go anywhere without it, and even though we’ve only used it once it gives us a tremendous amount of peace of mind having it with us. We just put it in a small tupperware container.
It consists of:
Several vials of liquid pyridoxine (100mg)
A syringe
Sanitary wipes for disinfecting the injection area
Diastat
Lubrication packets for Diastat
Plus we also carry extra B6 tablets in case he starts running a fever, we just up his dosage temporarily until the fever goes away
We also gave his nurse at school a kit, although we hope they never have to use it. They keep a close eye on him, and they know if he’s ever acting weird, running a fever or doesn’t feel good to just call us, one of us will be right there to pick him up 🙂
Here is a photo of The Kit:

The procedure is simple:
Lubricate the Diastat and “inject” it in the rectum
Fill the syringe with a vial of pyridoxine.
Make sure there are NO air bubbles in the syringe
Swab the injection site (the thick part of the thigh muscle) with disinfectant.
Inject (this is the scary part, my wife did it because she has nursing training, but I could do it if she wasn’t there – the nurses had me practice on an orange when they gave us the kit).
